Ministerie van Financiën (Dutch Ministry of Finance)
The Ministry of Finance ensures that the tax system is both enforceable and acceptable to the population. It monitors the income and expenditure of all the Ministries and makes sure that
Government money is spent efficiently and effectively.
The Ministry is also in charge of domestic financial and economic policy, or in other words, the broad outlines of the income and expenditure of businesses and consumers. It ensures that the money markets function satisfactorily, that financial institutions remain sound and that payment services are reliable; these, after all, are the pillars on which a healthy economy must rest.
The Ministry is also responsible for aligning the national financial-economic policy of the Netherlands with that of Europe and the rest of the world.
