Gwen Carleton

Gwen Carleton has worked in Corporate Communications since 2001. She is editor of Novo Nordisk's intranet news service, producer of the company's quarterly video news broadcast and a contributor to the employee magazine. She has also seen life from an affiliate's viewpoint, having managed communications in a new affiliate in California for four months in 2005. Previously, Gwen was a journalist, writing for The Capital Times newspaper and other US publications.

Building a news site that works
In 2001, Novo Nordisk launched its first internal news website. Today, it reaches thousands of employees worldwide, and is viewed as the company's central news source by managers and employees alike.
In this session, we will explore the early challenges (employee skepticism, credibility, creating and maintaining standards) and more recent ones (resources, redesigns, coordination with affiliates). We will also explore best practices gleaned along the way.
