Avanti & Veloci: the leadership program of Fiat Group Automobiles - creating a portal for leadership

Fiat Automobiles had to face an important challenge in the last period: to overcome the deep economic and image crisis into which it had plunged during the preceding years, to re-vitalize its brand and to establish again a leadership position in Italy and in Europe. The global program was named “Fast and Forward” (“Avanti e Veloci”). Thus the new task for the managers was to diffuse this cultural and functional change of business objectives as quickly as possible.

The Avanti e Veloci web portal constitutes a virtual environment for the Programme, where each manager can administer his/her own personal development, through both individual exploration and group collaboration.

The portal is organized in 3 main sections:

  1. An informational section, which describes the general features of the program and reports its activities and the results which are achieved in the course of time.
  2. A section dedicated to disclosing the various project teams activities, initiated throughout the company, with the aim to implement the leadership model principles in the business, operating processes, structures.
  3. A third section dedicated to a special leadership program, called “Me, the Leader” ("Io Leader"), to facilitate the development of individual leadership behaviors in line with each principle of the leadership model.
